Providing a challenging and rich learning environment

Sycamore Class

Our teacher is Miss Harris.
Mrs Hicks and Mrs Teague help us too.

We enjoy learning in lots of different ways - collaborative learning is important to us.

Each new term we focus on particular area of maths, reading and writing to help us to make progress with this focus. These are our curricular targets we are workign towards with our class rules which we wrote as a class at the beginning of the year.

Each term we study a topic and learn skills and knowledge though that area – we have been looking at World War II and have researched into what happened and the impact it had on people. We have improved our English, art, ICT, RE and enquiry based skills at the same time.

We have displays of useful information all around our room - these help us to build up our kinowledge of key facts and improve our skills.

This is Sycamore's classroom - we move around the room for maths and english sessons to sit with people who help us to learn best and often move furniture too.

During break and lunchtimes we can use picnic tables to eat our lunches and to play games. We also take our lessons outside and groups of us use the tables.
